Support Units:
When playing the game, players can construct support units as well as Mech Warriors. Support units repair and re-arm mechs, but are fairly costly. There are 3 support units: a Mobile Battle Base, A repair drone and a re-arm drone.
Mobile Battle Base:
The mobile battle base is a huge slow moving mobile platform with self contained defences that has two functions. The first function is to repair and re-arm a maximum of 3 Mechs at one time. To do this the MBB must be stationary, with its wheel tracks retracted to provide a stable platform. The second
function of the mobile battle base is a mobile wall. The repair platform is hinged upwards using large pistons to provide a mobile defensive barrier that can shield any units behind it from incoming
attacks.
The MBB has two anti missile systems and two short and medium range missiles. These defences can only be activated when the MBB is in transit or deployed into the repair/re-arm function. The defences are inactive during deployment as a mobile defensive barrier.
Not only does the Mobile Battle Base provide all of the above, it can also be deployed into a
secondary command module structure, allowing players to expand their base without an extortionate cost.
Repair Mech:
The repair drone is essentially a small Mech that can repair Mechs on the battlefield. It will
automatically repair allied units but can be set to follow a battle group/squad. It can also salvage metal from destroyed mechs, which can be returned to the refinery to add additional resources.
The repair drone has no defences, making it a vulnerable target when on its own. However, it’s speed slightly surpasses that of a fast light mech, allowing it to maneuver around the battlefield quickly
Re-Arm Mech:
The re-arm drone, much like the repair drone, is a small Mech. It can re-arm mechs on the battlefield, like the repair drone, automatically as well as directed to follow a battle group/squad. Due to the large amount of ammunition it carries it makes the re-arm drone a highly prized target, as if it is
destroyed it will explode and damage any nearby units.
The re-arm drone can also deploy Bouncing Betty mines on the battlefield. The mines are buried under the ground and have a proximity sensor, which when trigged by an enemy Mech, propels a missile into the air which quickly sweeps the area for the enemy Mech, locks on to it and then shoots down from the sky to perform an aerial hit.
Mines can be detected, as well as disarmed with a well placed shot. They can even be captured by an enemy re-arm drone and used against you.
