#009 GAD BA4: Game Re-Design - New Concept

After taking into consideration what our tutors said, we've decided to put the old project behind us and work on the main aspects, those being monsters and customisation. David brought up an idea that was quiet interesting, it kept some aspects from our old concept but kept much closer to what the tutors wanted. Players take control of their very own monster, training and developing its skills much like in an MMORPG. The game would encourage primal instincts in players, to fight, react and behave in game  like an animal as such.

Taking it a step further, the idea of having some kind of genetically created/modified monster came up and began to snowball. Players would be able to create a monster as well as genetically modify it to their own style/needs. This would create a bond between the players avatar and the player, almost as if the avatar was a real thing.

Then the question came up of why and how they were genetically modified creatures. Jurassic Park came to mind, which if you don't know, is about a Theme Park on an island that is inhabited by dinosaurs cloned from DNA found in fossils. This is where the idea of having the some sort of research facility on an island came about, which was then later developed into an off-world research facility. But still, why were they there? The answer is simple... To create the ultimate organism based weapon.

We still wanted a lot of customisation, giving the player a massive range of play styles. Evolution came up which opened up a whole range of options such as upgraded limbs, bodies, heads as well as types of attacks from melee based to range.
