After our lesson we sat down and had a talk about the sort of game we wanted to produce. We bounced ideas back and forth and came up with an idea that we all warmed to. The idea was to create a game where the player plays as a "Monster" that can be mutated and grown to some degree into a variety of different forms. It would encourage primal instinct in players, bringing out the "animal" in them. In terms of mutation we were thinking genetics, so the game would be set in some sort of research facility, perhaps even on another planet as a safety precaution? The monsters would have lots of different play styles, or classes, as well as hundreds if not thousands of limb, body, abilities, attack combinations. Players of the same species would be encouraged to work together, whether it be in a player vs player environment or a player vs environment.
To start off we decided to go off on our own and grab as many images and reference material as possible for the look/style of the sort of game we wanted to create. I was to look at internal structure, David at animals and Dominic at external structures and animals.
Internal Structure/Rooms
Exterior Structure
Animals/Monsters
